Bruno Associates Secures $20,000 for Recreational Opportunities for Individuals in Rutherford Borough

October 13, 2015—Bruno Associates requested funding from the Department of Community Affairs in awarding $20,000 in grants to Rutherford Borough. The grants were awarded for the Recreational Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities (ROID) program to ensure accommodations are accessible for individuals with disabilities involved in municipal recreation programs. The grant for ROID will facilitate that local governments are meeting the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and it also supports athletic, performing arts and many variances of leisurely activities. With the grant awarded to Rutherford Borough, they will create a recreation program for individuals with and without disabilities which includes various weekly activities such as: bowling, dances, going to the movies, playing sports, going to the park and any other activities to help sustain the program.
