Bruno Associates Secures $118,875 for Weehawken Port Security Improvements
Funded through the Department of Homeland Security – FEMA
June 9, 2015 – Bruno Associates has assisted the Township of Weehawken to secure a grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency via the Department of Homeland Security for $118,875. Weehawken’s funding through the Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) will be allocated towards purchasing and installing seven security cameras, one monitor, computer software, three years of system maintenance, the purchase and installation of ten laptops and ten software licenses. The equipment will monitor Port Imperial, the location of New York Waterway’s ferry terminal which transports 30,000 commuters daily and cargo to New York City. The equipment is necessary because the NY Waterway terminal has been deemed a critical infrastructure location by the Department of Homeland Security. Since it is privately owned, the Weehawken Police are responsible for the day to day safety and security of the port.
