Bruno Associates Secures $900,000 for Irvington Township’s Park Upgrades
Funded by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
Summer 2015—Bruno Associates requested funding from the NDJEP Green Acres Program and was awarded $900,000 in grants for Irvington Township’s 40th Street Playground upgrades. The Green Acres Program administers funds to local governments and nonprofit land trusts to obtain open space and develop parks throughout the state. These projects that are approved by the Garden State Preservation Trust (GSPT) sets aside millions to provide funds for developing parks and recreational facilities, local land acquisition projects, preserving land and protecting the environment along with its wildlife. Irvington Township plans to use its awarded funds for the 40th Street Playground which is Irvington’s 3rd largest park. The funds will not only update the existing playground and ball field, but will also repair and improve the park to meet the Americans with Disabilities requirements.
